Darya and a deer....

On my desk I keep the most recent picture in my possession of my grandparents whom I miss very much.  The picture was taken at Coffee Creek!  I always enjoy going there and remembering the times they took me their to just go for walks.  It's a really tranquil environment!  You know other than having to shoot around other photographers who take advantage of Coffee Creek's beauty.  This evening's senior was Darya, she's one of our lovely assistants on staff here.

I always love a good black and white.  And Darya thinks it looks like an Abercrombie ad.

HA! So not only while walking the paths did we stumble on 3 deer.  I got about 10 feet from this one who obviously was pretty angry about the flash!  I can't believe her mouth is open!

Danger isn't my middle name but it's their's...

Occasionally it's nice to do something you don't everyday at work- which for me during the day is edit photos.  One of my best friend Bill's band Danger Is My Middle Name needed a few shots for their sponsors and to send out to labels.  We just ran through some shots in the studio then did a quick shoot outdoors.  Then I received the best payment for shooting photos ever.  Potbellys! Ha so hey seniors, your senior portrait photographer LOVES an Italian Sub on Wheat, Mayo, Lettuce, Pickles, Oil and Italian Seasoning.  ;)

The Sun is...Beautiful

I hadn't been to the beach for a month or two?  I forget how fortunate we are to have such a beautiful landscape to enjoy!  I hope that Alyssa enjoys her photographs!

Stephanie : ) !

A few blogs ago I talked about how this is my favorite weather...I love it when its like you know 50-60 degrees.  When it's already 40s and even upper 30s that's not a lot of fun.  We made the best of the situation and got quite a few really awesome pictures.  Hope you guys like them!

Hobart Senior - Meredith

Yesterday I was extremely fortunate during my senior portrait session to work with such an amazing subject and shoot during a very beautiful fall day.  I must say this has always been my favorite weather!

This was my first "fall" shoot of the year.  Or at least the first time I was able to work with the fall colors.  At one point I had two completely different skies to work with.  To the north were blue summer skies cluttered with white puffy clouds.  The south sky was colored with eerie grey clouds. (yes eerie has TWO e's, apparently I didn't know.)

The best part of being a portrait photographer is that with every subject you try to adapt to who they are.  You're goal is to best portray who each subject is.  It seemed like everything lined up on this shoot.  The subject, the weather, the locations, and even the attitudes.

This was by far my favorite shot of our session.  I saw the image in the viewfinder and could not wait to upload it on the computer and work with it.  The photoshop work actually turned out to be very minimum.  Like I said before; everything just seemed to line up.

Hobart Senior - Mike

I showed up to today's senior portrait shoot at the Hobart High School auditorium early to try and think a few ideas.  After playing solitaire on my phone and throwing around a duck tape ball with a few of the guys here's one of the ideas I came up with!

Mike like most senior guys wasn't thrilled to take his senior photos, but I think by the end of the shoot he was a having a good time.  Maybe I should have kept this shoot for the end of the shoot because I think he might have been a little annoyed with me making him sit in so many chairs! :)
